I want to build a run for my 7 ducks but they’re used to having a yard and pond to play in. I want to build a run to keep them safe but I still want them to have access to the pond at all times during the day. Has anyone ever built a run that extends into a pond or does anyone have any idea on how to make it? There’s a small slope from the yard to the pond. The yard is about one foot higher than the pond so that makes it a little tricky. I also need to make sure otters can’t get in there. I also want to me able to walk into the run to herd them into their coop and clean it. I found 6 ft fencing already I can use. These pictures show the same spot where I’m wanting to build it but at different angles. I hope they help give an idea of the slope. There’s a place at the pond with near to no slope that would be easier but I want the run to be here if possible.

You planning to put fencing out into pond or fencing in whole pond to be able to contain them in the run? That would be the only way to keep them contained in the run.
I want to put an area of fencing in the pond not around it. And for that area to connect to the rest of the run on land

How deep is the pond where you want your run?
I want it to be wider along the bank so that it won’t have to go further out where it’s deep. But I’d say it would be around 3-4 ft deep at the point in want it to extend to
