Here are my plans for my duck run. It is seperated into two parts because I will open the topless part of the run when I get home each day to allow them access to their pool. That way, I can be sure nothing will attack them. The coop and run is just a few feet from our five dogs and they scare away everything! Even the mail guy!

Cool! How many ducks will live in this space?

Is that a window on the side? Is it all one level? Do you make nest boxes on the floor for your girls?

I have a few pekins and they live in the coop with 5 chickens and 2 guineas. I let the ducks out everyday to free range because their water is outside the door. They are so messy with their water. I don't let the other birds out in bad weather.

you can put ducks with chickens? I am getting 2 Pekin ducks (helping out a friend) and I was looking for duck housing/run plans when I found this site. (love it btw) I have 6 chickens that were hatched last June. the ducks are probably a month to month in a half (two months tops) old. Should I try to put them with the chickens or no? Have to have my Duck house built by Wednesday if I can't put them with the chickens.

I really don't know much about ducks, But my guess would be that since they are not all chicks (ducklings) your biggest problem will be introducing them to the chickens. The chickens, since they are full grown, might peck at them. They ducklings will be defenseless.
