Duck shot with BB.

Ok Thurs afternoon my boys called me and told me that one of the ducks had a BB in its bill. I was not sure what they were talking about so I run home to check it out. When I looked at him he had a BB stuck in his bill. It was close to the end and was a little to the side. Was not the happiest of ducks when I was getting it out. I checked the inside of his mouth so see if it had went all the way trough. Luckily it was not. The problem is that where it was is a hole and was wondering what I can do to keep it from getting infected or something in that nature. I thought about taking a q-tip and putting a little turpentine on it. Wanted to know what I should do. Don't want to do anything that will harm him anymore that what he is. Maybe just keep an eye on it. Will be very much grateful for any help. This is the first time we have had ducks so it is a learning experience.

Do you have any idea who shot your duck? that's awful, relieved it was the bill and not the eye. Put some Apple Cider Vinegar into his drinking water 1-2 Tab per 1 gallon of water this will keep it clean and help with healing. and drinking some will act as a tonic. Let us know how he is doing, and maybe when you put them up for the night you can put some neo on it that way he won't wash it off so quick. nothing with pain relief in it.
