What’s wrong with my duck. Unusual poo too.

He looks really good, smooth clean feathers, wouldn’t be able to tell anything wrong. I caught him because he had a string caught on his leg that was cutting into him. I’m sad I didn’t catch it sooner, but it was so hard to see and I’m often out there without my glasses.

Treatments?

Should I isolate?

Kalmbach Duck and Goose, scratch, mealworms and watermelon snacks

You could put a little coconut oil on it, but that is just normal bill shedding. Drakes in particular seem to be the main ones who shed more keratin off of their bills in the spring. The bleeding looks like the skin is just a tad dry which can happen especially over the winter. What does his abnormal poop look like?

It was yellow pure liquid

Well that’s comforting.

I would remove the scratch, mealworms, watermelon and give him his feed to see if that changes things. If so then you will know that it’s food based and not health based issue. The corn from scratch can make it yellow and too watermelon can make it runny. Also if he is drinking more water with the temperature going up that can cause their poo to become very liquidy.
