Hi! We have a 1.5 year old khaki campbell female who we are noticing is acting strange. She is randomly sitting as she walks around, and when she sits she picks her legs up and kind of stretches them. When we just gave them lettuce she even sat down to eat. She is laying, drinking, eating, cleaning, and happily snacking. I've just never seem her do this. I checked her feet, no scratches or bumblefoot. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Keep an eye on her, think she's just s - t - r - e - t - c - h - i - n - g My chickens do that, they stretch their legs after sitting, especially when they come out of the nest from laying.

How cold is it where you are located. In extreme cold ducks will belly down and pull their legs up into their feathers resting only on their abdomens. Or she may simply be stretching.

We are in Maryland, it is currently 4 degrees and there is snow on the ground.

That's cold enough to 'protect' your feet. :p

So this is normal behavior? It didn't get very cold last winter, so this is new to us.

Pretty much sounds like normal behavior. We all got spoiled last winter. I've already about had it with this cold. :old
