I have a crested duck sitting on a bunch of eggs. She is not a large duck and I feel like she can't keep them all warm. The house she is in is very sturdy and the roof comes off so I had my DH help me take to roof off and check on them. She is not sitting on all of them but she does have most covered with the nest she made from straw and feathers. I got some of the eggs that felt cold and brought them in and candled them. Several looked like they were not fertile and a couple had baby ducks in them but couldn't tell if they were moving. But I stuck them in the incubator to see what happens.
This is my first time to have a broody duck and don't know what to expect. I keep her food and water. The temps have dipped down into the low 50's. Some of the eggs are what and some are green.
Can anyone give me any insight what to expect?
sorry for the ramblings,
jackie
