Duck started laying unexpected color

I got my first duck egg today, from what I suspect to be a crested pekin but it was a greenish olive color. I was wondering if maybe she is not pure pekin, or if anyone else has gotten greenish pekin eggs because I thought they were white.

I believe the color you are seeing is the “bloom”. As my ducks got older the eggs became whiter.

My pekin lays a color close to this. It becomes even more greenish blue when boiled.

Oh ok it did seem to be some sort of layer on top.

You can probably scrap off the coating with your finger nail.
