one of my 9 month old khaki girls was really struggling to move about this afternoon. She was just fine this morning, not sure what happened. She’s eating, swimming And been doing great.

She seems to rely on her wings to move. I checked her for any injuries to foot and leg and nothing I can see. Eyes clear, feathers good.

I feed the ducks 15% Dumor layer/finisher, lots of dried mealworms and the 12 ducks collectively eat 6 pounds of peas a day, so I’d be surprised if this was a niacin deficiency.

I’m hoping she just got tuckered out due to nice weather and a lot of running around.

I’ve ordered poultry brewers yeast from amazon which is coming on Sunday.

I also read on Metzger blog about liquid vitamin B. Has anyone used this and if I bought in a pharmacy, what would be the dosage for a single duck? I have (non needle) syringes to feed by mouth if she’s not doing better tomorrow.

Has anyone experienced this? As always your advice is so appreciated.

And I think perhaps the 15% food is not enough protein? Someone told me Dumor is better than Blue Seal, but the tractor supply I go to doesn’t have 18%, which is probably where they should be.

The feed should be fine, maybe too many peas but that won't cause what your talking about. A video would help and I am worrying botulism since she was fine this morning. I assume you checked for bumble but it shouldn't arrive this fast.
Botulism...that’s scary what would cause that?

I just read some articles about botulism. My girl is not hanging her neck now, but I’m keeping close watch.

I also read that botulism is more prevalent in warm weather. It was 50 degrees here, warm for December in Ohio, but not balmy.
