Our 5ish-month old drake has been constantly making chewing motions the last few days. His tongue looks really gross and slimy. Is this normal?

It looks swollen or am I not seeing it right? Try some ACV with mother in his drinking bucket 1-2 Tabs per gallon it won’t sting but it can kill certain bacteria. Then see if there is any change after a few days. Could he have gotten into briars or stinging nettle? It could be he has eaten something that caused this. How is he acting otherwise is he eating and drinking good?

He's eating drinking, drinking, and quacking just fine.

He free-ranges during the day, I don't know what he could've gotten into. Haven't noticed briars or stinging nettle on our property, but it's heavily wooded, so it certainly could be there somewhere.

I'm not familiar with "ACV with mother." Is that something I could find at a Tractor Supply?

A picture from a different angle.

It does look kind of thick if you can try running your finger down his tongue just to make sure nothing is stuck in there like a splinter or thorn. I don’t know if you’ve ever gotten into stinging nettles but it feels like you’re being stung and the plants have small stinging sharp points on them. It could be something entirely different but we have to eliminate every possible cause.

Is it normal for it to be that dirty looking?
