Wow that's un heard of any more she is a very nice vet. If you go to the feed store ask them what kind of probiotic they carry for poultry, Different stores carry different ones. I have actually not had to give one since I haven't used an antibiotic. But antibiotics can mess up the GI track, at this point you don't want him with an upset tummy to where he stops eating.

Yea but I'm gonna give to him 2 times a a day then later just give him 1 pill for 10 days so do I continue to put the iodine still on him

I would use the iodine every 3 days only until he has taken all antibiotic then lets see how he is looking. Hopefully using the antibiotic internally and iodine externally will get this infection gone for good.

Every 3 days is too much. Use it every 5 days with an antibiotic. You can overdose with the iodine with ducks, as their skin takes it in easier than a chicken would. Please, 5 days.

Miss Lydia, ya done good! The iodine does need to be kept up as the ampicillian isn't the best choise for what is going on. Between the two, I think this may be able to be licked with no lasting affects.

Okay story of the day we'll my crusted duck would not stop following me today and he would quack at the door when I would go inside to do some stuff he would not leave until I went with him but never did he do that until today he would not leave me alone not that is bad or anything and he had food and his pool he usually happy and I know ducks do that but it was unusual of him
