How can I learn to tell which of my eggs belong to my callduck hens and which to my standard chickens, with the exception of the obvious brown eggs? They all run together! Can I eat the duck eggs?

:/Hi. Duck eggs are generally sort of oily when you put water on them. Also, my duck eggs have a sort of translucency to the shell, whereas chicken eggs are a definite beige or white.

Of course you can eat duck eggs. They are larger than an avg. chicken egg and have a stronger flavor in the yolk. My duck eggs had darker orange yolks than my hens brown eggs. I like serving them over-easy style because the yolks are HUGE and great for dipping (just don't overcook the white because it will get really tuff). Good Luck!
