So my duck has made a nest and has 14 eggs in it she has been sitting on. Today when she went to get a drink and walk around a little bit one of my Rhode Island Red hens sat on her nest. My duck came in and tried to get her to move and she wouldn’t. The duck was very upset and pacing in and out of the coop and making all sorts of noise. I tried to get the hen out but she just turned around and came right back into the nest. So mama duck is beside herself because that hen is not leaving... but I’m really not sure what to do. This is her first time of being broody.... I don’t want to move them and then her quit sitting on them. My Rhode Island reds are never broody... so I’m thinking maybe she is just sitting there til she lays an egg then might leave. I still don’t want that to be a reason that momma duck quits sitting on her eggs or start refusing to leave the nest afraid the chicken is gonna come in again and sit on her nest. Anyone else ever have this issue?
