Really? Quail? Did you see all of the duck pics with all those colors, shapes, and sizes? Quail only have 3 main colors, brown, white, and black!

Not even close! Quail have dozens of colors and patterns. There are at least 3 different dilution genes that cause different shades of any color they interact with in coturnix, and I think button quail have as many, if not more variety of color. I even have a quail with blue eyes. Look for the pics from muddy’s recent contest in the quail hatch a long, there’s like 15 or more varieties just in that one pen. Plus, sizes, you have tiny buttons all the way to jumbo coturnix and tons of big varieties of bobs that are 6x or more larger than the tiniest button. Just look at the variety in new world Quail’s, from bobs that resemble coturnix, to some crazy crest action in others.

Yeah, but duck have waaay more colors!

A single duck has no more colours than a quail but there are more breeds of duck than there are quail, so if you are including all duck colours then yes, there are more.
