hi all :) to cut a long story short, back in september my duck injured his wing (flesh wound I believe), in october he recovered to the point where he could flap his wings with all his might, but for the past few months I've only ever seen him giving his wings a light flutter, and I spend a lot of time with or watching my ducks. I have 4 other ducks, all female, and they all give their wings that big mighty beat, its good exercise for them, but he doesn't do it anymore. I understand its not a life threatening problem, and it surely isn't an old injury because I have a video of him beating his wings fully in october, my concern is he isn't getting as much exercise and he's getting a bit fat for my liking and I don't want him having a shorter life span due to heart problems or anything, he's only 6 months old, does anyone have any suggestions for me to get him flapping? any duck physio tips out there?

What breed of duck and how much swim time is he getting?
he's a white campbell duck (definitely white campbell not a pekin his bill isn't that bright orange). unfortunately my pond isn't up and running because my pond pump isn't working so the water gets dirty so its only like half full? the others go in and splash in the dirty water but he's a bit stuck up and only likes clean water :/

It could just take awhile to fully heal. Have you examined the wing to see if there are any issues still?

https://opensanctuary.org/article/h...should be held close, wings for lice and mites.

"Take a look at the duck’s wings. You will likely have to check the wing held close to you in a later part of the examination when you reposition them to check their crop. They should be held close to their body, generally symmetrical, and there should be movement in their wings’ joints when they flex. A duck’s wings should be checked for cuts, swelling, and other injuries. Make sure to check the area underneath their wings for lice and mites."

he hurt himself in september, but by october he regained full mobility in his wing and he could beat them like he could before, but now he just doesn't, its really baffling. he doesn't seem to flap his wings down anymore, he sort of flutters them up you know?

Is he molting? That can change his behavior. How old is he? If possible take a video. You would have to upload it to a video host, then post here.
Oh and my drake only likes clean water too. He will only swim the day the pool is filled. He will let his favorite hen go first, but after that, he's in dirtying it up. But, won't go in once it's too dirty. 😂
