I have never posted on this site before, so hello everyone and sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong area.
I have a Pekin who is holding her foot under her and limping. I had walked her and her sister outside to play in their kiddy pool while I clean their pen. When I had finished and returned outside, she was out of the pool and hiding near the coop with her foot up. Their coop is still being built so I don't know if she step on something, got stung, or if she could be developing bumblefoot. I have never raised ducks so I don't know what bumblefoot looks like. I took a photo of her foot if that would help anyone take a guess.

I also tried calling a vet but the only vet that will see her won't look at her until Wednesday.

She is also panting really bad now that I got her back inside. She also no longer want to stand up.

Kind of firm but not hard.
It feels soft until I push down on it.

Well maybe she has hurt her leg some how sprain etc do they have a way in an out of their pool? Do they use a ramp or steps to go into their coop? See any difference in one foot than the other as far as swelling or heat? Pekins being a heavy breed seem to have more leg issues. You might want to keep her from walking too much over the next week. But plenty of pool time which we call water therapy because it takes the weight off the legs but keeps them moving so she can maintain strength. Do you feed a lot of treats? One thing you don’t want is an over weight duck and again Pekins are notorious at loving the treats. I’d also get some liquid B Complex TSC has the best in the cattle dept it will say injectable but you just peel off the foil use a dropper and pull out 1 ml morning and evening put it over something she really loves just enough treat she gobbles up the liquid BComplex it’s a great vitamin for leg health. Watch the bottom of her foot also the reddish a little puffed area may develop into bumble but now I don’t think that’s her problem. With the liquid b complex they will pee out what their body doesn’t need.

Thank you. I will try the B Complex.
She does eat a lot of her feed but I rarely give her treats. When the vet sees her Wednesday I'll ask if she's overweight.
No steps for the pool but she's able to get in and out on her own. I normally put them into the pool myself and after cleaning their pen I would pick the ducks out and let them roam around the backyard. It surprised me to find her out and near the coop. The coop is also closed off but they're able to wonder around the outside of it. Once finished it will have a low ramp so I don't have to worry about them stepping up into it.

Good going to the vet is great they can do hands on examine and probably find out right off what’s going on. We can’t do an examine and being were not vets we do the best we can. Please let us know what the vet says.

Just wanted to follow up on how my duck is doing. Sunday she still limped bad but was actively chasing bugs despite me trying to keep her in the pool and off her foot. Yesterday the swelling was noticeably down as well. I called the vet to cancel her appointment and they told me to just call back later if she still limps by the end of the week. I felt bad calling it off but the vet is a 3 hour drive. Really didn't want to stress her out unless she wasn't recovering. I still don't know what happened to her but I would like to thank you for your help and information. I still plan to buy the B Complex this weekend when I pick up more feed.
