Duck with cut leg

Got a new girl the other day, I didnt know her wings werent clipped. She got away from me and got hooked by the leg on barbed wire. The cut is very small, less than half an inch, But very deep. She is very sore. Ive been cleaning it with buffered iodine spray. I let her go in with the other ducks last night because she hates to be handled but I think this was a mistake. She looks very frazzled. She also does not appear to be eating. Im going to bring her in, give her a hot water bottle and syringe some warm mash into her so I know she's eaten. Im also thinking the iodine might be too harsh drop back to salt water.

Any tips?

you could just confine your duck until the cuts are already disappearing

I would keep her in sick bay for a couple of days, and clip the feathers around the wound if possible. The saline solution sounds like a good idea.

Flies can lay their eggs in wounds - another reason to keep her in.

Also, can you get her into a tub of lukewarm water for her to swim and float in? That might cheer her up a little. Not a long, long time, but even fifteen minutes.

Yes I was thinking confinement for a few days. She's not like my other ducks, really doesn't like my fussing! The wound is on the scaly part of the upper leg on the inside, its not really got feathers in it. Poor girl is so miserable. The new drake I got just loves her
