Hi all! I apologize if this was already discussed someplace, but I wasn’t able to find a similar post.

I have a 4 year old jumbo Pekin, Mango, who has recently been a little “off.” I noticed she hasn’t been as active as the rest of the flock and is taking frequent breaks from foraging to rest. Her vent area hasn’t been as clean and dry either. She has discharge similar to the pic below (taken from google):

Other than those 2 symptoms, she is acting normal and still gets out to forage when she’s done resting. Eating and drinking normally. It is Spring and she does lay large eggs and usually struggles with some soft eggs when starting out — so I’m not sure if it’s related to that or something more serious.

To add: this has been going on for about a week.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks so much!

What do you feed your ducks?
She likely needs some more calcium than she’s getting. Do you keep a dish of crushed oyster shell out on the side for them to take freely when they want some?

Thanks for your reply. They get an organic breeder & maintenance feed from a local feed mill. 17% protein. They do have access to crushed oyster shells also, since the feed is only max 2% calcium.

The only thing keeping me from thinking it’s a calcium issue is that all my other ducks are laying perfect & consistent eggs for the past few weeks. Plus, with her being a jumbo breed, she typically eats much more than my other girls would.

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks again!
