A few weeks ago I went out to my ducks coops and my female was not able to stand due to a foot-leg issue. I let them free range for half the day and they are in the coop at night. I took her to a feed store where they had a bird specialist (not a vet) and I was advised that she had cuts on her foot and maybe she stepped on something hot (it has not been hot in our area) so we put bag bomb on it and gave her a splint. She wore this for about four days with not much improvement. I keep her in a kennel inside the coop so she can visit her boyfriend and bring her in the house at night. She still hobbles bad or just sits. She is drinking, eating with no problem and started laying eggs again. I can no longer see any problem with the bottom of her foot. How do I know if this is causing pain? Why can't she walk yet? What else can I do? I give her vitamins, niacin, peas, meal worms, baths. What is my next step I should take?
