Today my brother went outside and one of our ducks had only his head out of the water nonresponsive. He is a black Swedish about 3 to 4 months old. He is well now, but I would like to know what it could have been. I was not there when it happened but my brother said he was unresponsive with his eyes open and shaking. We heated him up and now he is eating and drinking.

yeah he mightve got beaten in their and to water logged and weak to get out

ide pick my favorite male and get rid of the rest

I rescue ducks so sometimes I get males but rarely let them in our flock. He is one we hatched and is finding a home. We only have one male (witch walks on a leash). I was just making sure it was nothing serious.

Sounds as if he was water logged and chilled. How long has he had access to swimming water ? His feathers may not be well oiled yet.

Sounds like water logging to me, maybe bullying from the other if hes in there.

On a side note, you walk your duck on a leash??
