Duck With Possible Mite Infestion On Tail. Please help.

My drake has had his trail look weird since she got injured two month ago. It all goes back two months ago when one of my ducks came back brom the lake unable to walk. She lost a ton of feathers and I don’t know if it was from stress or the attack. This is what her tail looked like a few days after the attack.

Ever since the attack her tail has never been the same. I always thought that it would grow back but it’s been two months and she is 6 months old now. I dismantle realize she could of had mites until today. I was trying to find all flock food and came across feather fixer and was wondering what it was so I looked into it At the same time I don’t think she hast mites because my whole flock would have fen infested by now. It also doesn’t make sense how could of she gotten mites from the attack? I’ve looked at it and haven’t seen anything. Even if it isn’tmites will feather fixer help? How long will it take? Nvm it’s definitely mites I just read something that said you’ll find blackened feathers from mites. I saw one weeks ago and took it home to ask what it was and completely forgot about it. I know I’ve said her/she a lot but that’s because since she was born everyone thought he would be girlbut it ended up being a boy. So it kinda just got stuck. I feel horrible for not knowing this ear

Have you looked her over of mites? If you look in there enclosure at night, and shine a flash light on everything, i you have an infestation, then you will see mites crawling around the coop, and her tail and body. @cooingcrow1 would you like to help out?

I have not done that but I will do that tonight. I will look her over and hopefully she’s not infested. Could he have possibly gotten them when we separated her from the flock to recover from and injured leg leg? In the first couple of days to a week she didn’t shower. Does what she have look like mites to you? However the rest of my flock doesn’t seem to have this problem and I don’t know how it hasn’t spread yet but I’m thankful she is the only one. What do I give her to get rid of this ASAP? I read feather fixer but many say it could be harmful because of the high level of calcium if you give to drakes.

Hm. I don’t think she has mites it would have spread to my ducks by now. In almost certain she has wet feather.

Could you wet down around his oil gland with some water, and post a few pictures? Try rubbing your fingers on the oil gland, do your fingers feel oily afterwards?
