Duck wont walk-HELP-what's wrong with her?

Come to think of it, this am one of the duck eggs was cracked down the long side. She is not eating that I can tell. She is nervous. She did pooh though and it is green and white and runny like normal duck pooh.

If the poo is normal - that is a good sign - but not eating isnt good. A sick duck will often excrete a mint green poo. It can be a sign if an internal infection somewhere.

If she continues to not eat- you will notice a difference in her droppings. If she was the one that laid the cracked egg..and it was cracked inside her- she may be suffering discomfort from trying to pass the egg. It is rare- but it can happen that an egg can break inside the duck.

one of my Muscovy drakelets(2.5mo old) just recently was having trouble walking. he wasn't walking almost at all in the pen so i ended up beinging him inside and he was in here for a few days on vitamins & antibiotics just in case. He started improving and is now walking and standing fine. i moved him back out today but i will be checking on him before they go to bed tonight.

I dont know what was wrong with him either except for maybe a touch of heavy metal poisoning.

Thank you for all your ideas! I will keep her inside and monitor her eating/drinking. She did scoot herself over a bit last time I was in there. Seems an improvement from earlier.

Now that it dried a little, her first pooh does have a small amount of minty stuff. Then her next pooh was big and dark olive green and stinky. What does this mean? It still does not look like she is eating.

If it is an infection-what type of antibiotic should I use? I think the only one I have is terramycin.

every once in a while ducks will poo a really dark, tarry-looking nasty, smelly poo... I believe it's called Cecal poop? It's totally normal, just smells & looks nasty! Terramycin should be fine, i put my boy on Durramycin(i think it's the same) and he's improved(not that it's the same issue).

Ok, I gave her vitamins and terramycin and she laid an egg this am and looks to be a little stronger. She can stand with help balancing now.

How long should I keep her in and on antibiotics? I figure like a person in the hospital keep her until things are normal, eating, drinking, walking. Is that right?
Thanks again for your help! You probably save my duckie!

I am down near Puyallup. You can keep her in the antibiotics for up to 10 days. it's great that she's improving already & even laid an egg! Maybe it was just all this cruddy cold weather that's caused it?
