We bought 2 pekin ducklings about a week ago and we are now going to convert my daughters old playhouse into a duck house where they can be locked up at night. The ducklings might be about 2 weeks old now not sure how to tell. They are currently with our chicks. Question is... Can I have a bowl for water and tape half of it closed so the can't get into the whole thing or should they be fine? And we still have a heat lamp. When do we stop using that on them?

They look to be maybe week- week and a half old.
Mine are almost 4 weeks and a few are almost 5 weeks.
They have been without a heat lamp for the past two days. But there are 13 total. So they keep each other really warm.
If you only have the two i would keep the heat till at least 5 weeks.
Well also depends on your weather i guess
Out weather is in the 30s at night 50/ daytime
If you wont be able to watch them just make sure its a water container they cant fall into... and if they can get into it make sure they are easily able to get back out by themselves.
I changed waterers multiple times as the ducklings grow .
They grow sooo much faster than chicks
