Do you think a Buff could be a Ruthie Duck? I can't imagine calling one of my own by a human sounding name: I took over a rescue who was called Max when she was thought to be male. She soon became obviously female [thus Maxine] after she came to live with me. But none of my other ducks nor my son's ducks have human-sounding names. [I have two friends who have dogs called Max: it's obviously quite popular in the pet world]
