That is really lovely. Is that a plastic kiddie pool with a drain? I need to think about something bigger for my crew - and I would like to put something in-ground.

Awh, you spied Apollo there, huh? Thank you.
I love him. I think Dobes are the best dogs around. He knows what I want of him before I ask it; he is so easily trained to do anything I wish. He LOVES to cuddle and be loved on, such a big wimp!
And I couldn't think of a better dog to have around my little nephews when they visit, or my chickens & ducks, and all my other critters. He is so gentle!
The duckies live in this 24/7, and sleep wherever they want in it at night. We are going to build them a coop this winter, but it has been slow going, trying to train them to "go to bed." Right now I feed them in the doghouse so they do toddle into there a few times a day, but have zero interest in staying in there.
We put a roof on it, reinforced everything, and put up the sight boards in case they sleep against an edge (so nothing can reach in and grab them). And it has a wire apron all the way around (that's what the logs are holding down, until the trampled plant life grows back up through it). So it's secure. I know no enclosure is ever 100% predator proof but it is pretty close to our house and the dogs patrol several times a day. We have had chickens in a chainlink kennel and coop system (their coop door opens into the covered kennel 24/7--I never shut it) for months now and absolutely no predator issues. No signs of anything even coming around.

Thanks. It's a stock tank. I couldn't find a kiddie pool that fit the bill; maybe you'd have better luck. Stock tanks are fairly cheap, at any rate; this one is 600+ gallons and it was under $200. It should last a lifetime.
