What about her eating the crumbles? I am concerned that her quality of life won't be very good as she gets older? How will she forage? Not sure what to do....

Yes the dry starter crumbles. I have noticed that I can see her breathing quickly and when I look at the others I can’t see them when I look at their bodies. I’m not sure if it is because she may not be getting enough water/nutrients but even my 2 younger ducklings don’t breathe hard like she does. What do you mean about the crumbles? you mean eating the dry? It's amazing how they can adapt and live good lives. She'll probably even be able to figure out how to forage. I believe @casportpony had a duck with an unusual bill too.
I’ve looked at her bill and it seems her mates are closed or not formed at all. She breathes with her mouth open and can’t close her mouth due to how her top bill is snapped. She may have other health issues. As long as she’s eating drinking and happy like the other ducklings then I’d just enjoy her. Have you tried dry crumbles yet? You can also add another feed and water container so she has a better chance of getting all the feed and water she needs. How do her nares look still open good for breathing?
Yes so far she runs around so I will just wait and see. I put them in the grass today and she tried to eat some but couldn’t but she got a leaf and tried to chew on it like the others and a stick. I will keep a watch closely.Poor little one. Is she still spunky? Does she run around like the rest of the ducklings?
Are you worried about quality of life? I think she’ll let you know when she gives up.
