Duckling breeds

Thanks for all the help! Does anyone have tips or suggestions on the runners? I’ve read that they’re skiddish as adults and need more room and free ranging. Not my plan, at all. Any help to keep these babies happy is welcome!! I hold them and talk to them constantly.

I can't answer since I ONLY know Indian runners. I wouldn't know if they are more skittish or not compared to other breeds.
Especially from young they can print on you and can come towards you when skittish to seek safety. Then again when not skittish; boss you around. With treats they can be trained to picked up and not be stressed or eat out of your hands. They often enjoy to see you and run towards you and 'duck herding' is not neccesairy when they trust you.

They love getting food out of mud. They also adore water (just like every other duck). They tend to seek food more on the ground then on water; so a muddy part would be a good thing. They tend not to graze much.

Just like poster above; not much different then other ducks probably (or atleast not a really big hassle; some natural pond or artificial pond + muddy part makes ALL ducks happy, and you don't have to clip the wings since they can't fly.

The one with the darker bill is a Buff. You also have a Pekin and two runners. Runners are no different than other ducks except for the fact that they often need larger space accommodations. However, I would like to add, my runners are not more skittish, in fact, I consider them one of the friendliest.

One pekin and the rest are pekin crosses.

Here are my 2 week old Buffs and at day old they have dark pattern on back all the way to the top of head.

Not so much skiddish but hyper. Prefer to be with only their kind and rather be out grazing as if the world was on fire lol
