Hi,
My Campbell has been really friendly since she was a duckling...but she can be a bit skitish on the odd occasion and afraid of the silliest objects, like the TV remote
She sits and watches tv and falls asleep sat on you and is trained in about 10 commands like a dog...that kind of friendly duck.
I got a 2 week old Runner duckling a few days ago and my Campbell got really excited when we introduced them. She couldn't stop wagging her tail, bobbing her head, looking at the duckling then looking at us then back at the duckling again. She then spent and hr doing this thing where her head shakes and she tries to run up your arm/head while shaking in excitement.
Since then she's gone extremely docile and doesn't flintch at anything now...she's no longer skittsh and it's almost like she's gone "YAY! I have a duck friend...now relax.". TV remote doesn't phase her and she loves standing near the duckling wagging her tail and especially loves her beak strokes when stood there.
If the duckling eats/drinks she comes over and eats with it...and she had a fun time trying to play with the duckling in the bath...the duckling, being new to water, was more interested in how far under water it could swim in search of food...which it often mistook the Campbells leg for. When the duckling nibbled her leg she looked at us and just wagged her tail.
It's like I have a whole new duck.
Has anyone else has experience of a change in a ducks personality in this way when introducing a friend.
Cheers,
Woka
