Helloooo!
So my duckling, Newt, got a lump in his chest and where they store water (at least I heard they store water) he got clogged (I've seen a lot of the female mallards at our pond with lumps and for some reason I didn't think of it and was just freaking out that Newt was gonna die or something)
Anyways, Newt is acting perfectly fine and hes breathing fine, hes very clogged (he got a lot of it out, it poured from his mouth and nose all onto my hands and arms lol) and hes got a little water left to sneeze out but hes fine.

I was just wondering.. should I stop letting him swim for a few days and just give him enough water to clean his nostrils and eyes? (hes currently 16 days old, going on 17, he swims one to two times a day, 5-10 minutes)

Oh, I'd also like to know if it's okay hes growing feathers at 2 weeks old? (he started at 14 days) He has around 4-5 spiky black things coming out of the fluff near his butt and it looks like he has tiny feathers growing near his back (hard to see them) and I've heard people say they start growing around 4-6 weeks so I was wondering if hes growing fine?

Hey so I've pinged you two since you have been giving me good advice! Hopefully you can help.
So the first time I guess he was "waterlogged" (just a big lump in his chest, his peeps sounded like he was clogged and he had water running out of his nose and mouth)
I never heard of a duckling having this happen due to them swimming once or twice a day but we stopped letting him swim for about 2-3 days now just in case that was the problem.
Every now and the he'd peeped like he was clogged but not too bad. The lump also went down.
Today, he sounded worse and he had a lump in the same spot. This time a lot of water poured out of his nose and mouth and I just recently checked on him (about an hour after the water poured out of his nose and mouth) and he was hyperventilating. He did not seem hot at all, he was still under the heat plate and if he was hot, he could've sat in his water (like he always does) and has room to get away from the heat plate.
I took my blanket, his food and water and got him into the bathtub to observe him more and hangout with him. By the time I finished setting it up and I went to get him, he wasn't hyperventilating anymore but I still took him out. A few seconds after sitting in the bathtub with him, I noticed he kind of yawned then opened his mouth twice (but not yawning).
Right now I am still sitting with him, sometimes when he peeps it sounds like hes clogged (I'd film it but its random). He currently just splashed around in his water bowl so hes cleaning himself and also nibbling me.
Hes acting normal, breathing fine, and talking up a happy storm. His poops also looks fine.

My main two questions are,
1. Is he okay and how do I help him get all the excessive water out?
2. Can he still swim although hes leaking water?

Also I'd like to include, when he leaked water the first time, it was clear like bath water.
The second time, it also looked clear, maybe a tad bit orange (I have sav-A-chick electrolyte I put in his water that turns it orange, I put it in his water since his food doesn't include niacin).
EDIT: he is no longer hyperventilating.
Another edit, since I can't film him peeping like hes clogged.. here's an example of what it sounds like. It sounds like one of those things that clowns honk, like a clown nose?

Also his wings keep twitching a little bit like hes trying to put them back into place, I haven't seen them droopy though, sometimes they are when he sleeps but only a little bit.

What are you feeding your ducks? Save a chick doesn't have that much niacin in it if your feed doesn't contain niacin. However, it is likely your feed does contain niacin, but it can be difficult to find the niacin content. All birds need niacin, just in different amounts.

Ducklings usually don't get waterlogged. If their crop is impacted, it can become hard and nothing will pass through. Water coming back up, is definitely not a good thing, because they can aspirate it and die from it.

I'm feeding him Dumor Chick Starter/Grower with 20% protein, we are going to be switching him to adult food soon since he'll be 3 weeks soon.

Dumor chick starter has the minimal amount of niacin a duck needs. Some do need more, so you will be fine for niacin levels.

Does your duck only have water come out when they pick it up?

That's the crop, it doesn't store water, it's supposed to store food that they eat during the day, all birds have one. :]
He might have just taken a drink and he got over excited or squeezed wrong, so it came out. It could be a blockage, to check, feel it at night if it's full and in the morning before he eats if it's empty.

For the niacin, I can stop giving him niacin in his water and just give him normal water now?
And no, he drinks fine and only twice he has had water come out of his nose and mouth, I dunno when and why it comes out but it does.

Oh, I heard they stored water somewhere-- didn't know it was for food! But I do think I know why he has water coming out now that you say that..
I've been putting a small amount of water in his food so he could eat it better (when he was younger) and I've been giving him dry food with a little water in it and I've noticed that his food is completely soaked when I checked on him a bit after I give him food. I'm thinking since he likes to hangout in his water and then go in his food, he gets it all wet and stores the water with the food?
I'm planning on giving him all dry food crushed up starting today when I switch his food out. I could give him a bottle of water and cut a hole in it so he can't get it in but his brooder doesn't have enough space since he has a huge heat plate. I can try a water bottle though until it's time to switch his heat plate to a different position?
