duckling died couple hours after hatch

I was wondering why would a duckling just roll up and die in an incubator a couple of hours after it hatched. I've been hatching other chicks and turkeys and everyone else is fine. Duckling hatched on its own. No blood or left over yoke.

I am not a hatcher, but maybe you can tell us what the temperature was, if there were any issues during incubation, what the humidity was, what breed of duck….

Temp was at 98 it was a khakie Campbell

What was the humidity?

That can affect development.

a temp of 100 to 99 is best but 98 shouldnt have killed it, it might have had more internal troubles, like its heart hadent developed the right way.

From anything I have read about humidity that sounded like a good humidity. Little critter just may have had some congenital difficulties.
