Hey everyone, my ducklings are at 7 weeks and I have been feeding them Rolling Acres Grower/Finisher (pic 1, with brewers yeast). My local store doesn’t have duck specific feed, only poultry.

They are almost done their bag so I’m wondering what I should be getting for them next. Should they keep eating that stuff or should I introduce something else, like the Poultry Feed (pic 2).

Also, what should they eat when they’re fully grown adults?

Is there an all flock type food? It would have a bit more protein and other nutrients as well. When my ducks are grown I do feed a layer feed as it is a bit cheaper, but the all flock is better nutritionally. With all flock layers need a calcium source on the side.

If you cannot get all flock, I think the poultry layer feed is better than starter feed at 7 weeks old. You can boost the protein content by adding mealworms or lentils or peas. You should add niacin -- brewers yeast or nutritional yeast are available on line.

The issue with layer feed is that it has a high calcium content. But many drakes are fed with their laying females on layer feed and do OK. Ducklings and juveniles area till growing and feathering and I doubt that they will get problems from too much calcium

You can order flock or duck food directly from chewy.com with free shipping orders $49+. That's where I get mine because I don't want to deal with the extra trip or the extra carrying
