Duckling feed

Hey yall I'm gettin ducks in a few days and was wondering if it was fine to feed em Purina medicated chick starter and add some brewers yeast to it? And for how long would I need to keep giving them brewers yeast? Thanks yall. Ivan

Most people advise against medicated feed for ducklings but if I'm not mistaken the deadly ingredients are no longer in modern medicated feed.

I give some sort of Niacin supplement for the first 12 weeks.

I've been feeding my ducks Purina Layena unmedicated from day one. I think it is intended for egg laying hens, but my 23 ducks don't seem to mind. Start with crumbles then graduate to pellets. No problems at all. I've started mixing in some whole corn now that they are all just about full grown. They don't seem to like it as much as the pellets, but will eventually eat that as well.
