Hi everyone,
I am new to ducks and we are wanting to get 4 female khaki Campbell ducklings.
However no one in our area sexes their ducklings so we could end up with who knows what! I’m not sure I want to make that commitment to raising ducklings that then turn out to be drakes.
We still want to go that route of ducklings as no one sells laying ducks around here either...and we want to raise them around our kids.
Basically I’m wondering what people do if they end up with more drakes than wanted...OR does anyone know of a hatchery or similar that sells sexed khaki Campbell ducklings in Canada and are willing to ship??

Thanks!

I'd just send the drakes to the freezer if giving them away is a problem. Maybe start with 6 ducklings and the chance of you getting 4 ducks or more will be 1/3, 3 ducks or more will be 2/3. Or get 7 and getting 4 ducks or more is 1/2 chance, 3 ducks or more is 3/4. I consider these good odds. The worst that could conceivably happen is getting only 2 ducks, but then you can just brood another set of them. (It's called duck math, by the way.)
