I recently rescued a Rouen who looks to be in his first week. I've raised six ducklings to adulthood but this one is by himself. Anyway, he will NOT stop pecking and violently attacking the sides of his brooder box since he got home. Is this something that will hurt him in the long run? Is it anxiety? Is it because he's alone? He's making me nervous.

Give the duckling a mirror with safe edges and a stuffed animal to cuddle with. Can you get the duckling a buddy they really do so much better when there are 2 or more. And be sure to use a red bulb for heat not a white light. Where did you rescue the duckling from?
