I have hatched ducklings in the past but never had one hatch upside down. Every time he breaths he swallows the albumen, I'm scared for his life and need info!

Is this duckling already hatching right now?

No it pipped the shell and through the tiny hole I saw bubbles so I opened the hole so I cukd see it, when it starts blowing bubbles I tilt the egg so the albumen moves away from the beak.

How is it doing?

I dunno what to say... not dead I guess, its not ready to hatch yet so I'm hoping its ready tomorrow if it makes it. I've never had this issue. The others were set right, why not this one?

What breed of duck is it and what day is it on? You're probably going to have to try to open it just a little more about the bill so it can breathe without sucking in anything but air. That needs to be chipped away in very tiny pieces since you're not in the air cell, and you want to stop right away if there's any bleeding.

The duckling is a Cayuga Cross. Its day 26. I had 3 other ducklings hatch already.do I pull his head out because he's in a weird position, his head is where is butt is and his head is under theembrane while his beak is out surrounded by Albumen. His beak doesn't seem to be out far enough

Also only the opposite side of the membrane is attached to the shell while the rest of it is wrapped around the duckling as it should

Can you possibly post a pic of that? I wouldn't pull on him this early. I'd just try to free the bill enough that he can breathe. You're also going to want to keep an eye on the membrane and moisten it with a q-tip ship it doesn't dry out and trap him. You're probably going to have to assist the hatch in the next couple of days, but there are likely unabsorbed vessels at this point that could cause fatal bleeding if you tear or stretch the membrane much.
