Duckling hatching upside down! need help imediatly

He died in the night. It's sad, but it happens and its sometimes hard to get over. We had another one hatch upside down but wasn't swallowing albumen like the first one. I helped him out and he is healthy and happy. It's too bad I couldn't save him, but I'll learn from this...

I'm so sorry about the one that died, but great work on the other one! Are you going to post a pic?
 
I will when I can get the camera working... He looks like a Peking duckling, which is odd because the Peking we have is too young to breed and the dad is a Cayuga. All the possible moms are: an unknown cross breed, a Welsh harlequin, and a blue Swedish. I will have silver appleyard ducklings next year.

I'm eager to see a pic of that. I wouldn't have thought that a Cayuga drake crossed with anything could produce a duckling that looks like a Pekin. Things that make you go hmmm.
