I have a mallard about 4 three weeks would he can not walk nor turn his neck to the left he was fine the other day now seems like he is real pain ... any advice

Do you think he got hurt or trampled somehow, or is it just for no reason? He may need some vitamins and electrolytes. You normally add it to their drinking water. What type of food are you feeding?

Could he have gotten into something toxic? Have you ever looked at the symptoms of botulism poisoning? I am not very well versed with it, but when I hear of lameness for some reason my mind went to toxins. Please let us know if the symptoms are the same or different. If anything, it'll be good to rule it out.

I agree with the vitamins and electrolytes as supportive therapy til you can get to the bottom of this.

I have put in electrolytes in his water with vitamins the vet gave him some meds but he doesn't seem to be getting any better I am getting scared that we will have to put him down ...

So sorry, I hope you don't have to put him down. What does the vet seem to think the problem is? You are doing everything you can at this point. I pray he gets better with time. Are you seperating him from the others in case it's contagious?

Did the vet try an anti inflammatory injection by chance? Not sure if they can be used with waterfowl, but may help. It may be some type of neurological disorder.
