One of my incubating duck eggs has a dark spot on the shell, outside the air cell. When I candle it it shows a dark place with yellow around it, and I'm wondering if it's a spot where the duckling hit a vein and it bled? The duckling is still alive but I'm a little worried about this whole hatch. A couple eggs I thought internally pipped on Saturday but there are no external pips yet. I went ahead and put a safety hole this morning in one I was certain had internally pipped.

Internal pip?

Bruising is very common in duck eggs. Most of the time it's where the internal pip is but other times just where the duckling is pressed against the shell.
Okay, thank you. I'll just wait it out and keep an eye on it. All ducklings are still alive and active right now.
