Duckling ID Trivia, name the breed.

Adorable! Your Snowy Mallards are looking especially beautiful! It looks to me like you might have a pair. The one with the yellow bill being the female.

Yay! That’s what I was hoping and guessing too. Due to the color, size, and personality. Although I’m really new to the ducks so I’m still learning. We have had many chickens in the past, but this summer is the first for us to have ducks.
We started out first with 4 Pekin ducks, I guess I’m really good at picking out males, lol. It’s turning out I got 3 drakes and one duck in that group. They are all gorgeous but they don’t seem to be anywhere near as friendly as the Snowy Mallards or the Black Swedish. I’m debating on keeping a pair or not of the Pekin. If I do we are going to try to keep them to help clean up a lily pad problem we are having on a pond. Here’s a couple pics of them and the pond. We just started introducing them to the pond a few days ago. They aren’t too sure about it yet and stay a bit at the edge then come back up to the house. I guess they think they are house ducks. Lol

The Black Swedish pair one seems to be starting to quack, she (I’m going to call her a girl and hope she is a girl, lol) has been jumping out of her brooder bin the last few days in the morning as I get everybody all outside to play. It seems she can’t wait for me. I had one of the Pekins that did that too and am wondering if it was the girl of those too. It’s hard to tell them apart.
