Okay, so I plan to mark this one permanently (perhaps by punching webbing? Thoughts? Tips?) so I never breed from it. But I do want to help it survive.
Has anyone had success offering leg therapy to a duckling? The little guy has his legs stuck out behind him and can't coordinate them to walk. He keeps flopping over and can't get up. Good head & neck control when upright, but can't seem to stay upright due to legs.
I was thinking that maybe if we hold him a lot and hold his legs under him, and then sometimes "swim" his legs to give him a feel for the way they ought to move might help him build the strength & coordination he needs to make it.
Thoughts? Tips? Advice? I want to give him a chance. Also, if you have hopeful stories about your own floppy-legged ducks, let me hear them!!
Thank you!
