We have 3 welsh Harlequin ducklings we hatched in our incubator about a month ago. One of them has started always looking up and then falling over. They are eating an all flock feed with 20% protein and get niacin 100mg/gallon of water ever since they hatched as well as various leafy greens. Other 2 ducks are fine. Thoughts?!? Still eats and drinks, but lays down more than other 2 and almost neurological in nature. I’m a vet tech who works for a neurologist and she looks neuro to me.

You could try giving it a some b complex, and maybe some e and selenium. Consult with your vet for proper doses of the e and selenium because selenium can be toxic.

If I had one doing that I would give it b complex injections and vitamin e orally.

Okay thanks have you seen any change? I think with wry neck vit E is recommended. also. I read you just open a capsule and drip tiny amts into the mouth till gone. Also with the liquid B complex it's best to give it full strength over something that she'll eat up pretty quick so you know she is getting full amount.

It’s a liquid and I’m adding 150 mg of it to each gallon of water. It’s 1.5 mLs I’m adding but 150 mg in that amount.
Can you go get some of the b complex for cattle from a feed store? If not,can you tell me how much *thiamine* one ml of the liquid you have? Or just post a picture of the bottle.

Sorry I’m just seeing these. She’s improved some as she doesn’t fall backwards as often now, she’s able to catch herself some of the time. Still stargazing, but not as bad. I’ve upped the B Complex cattle injectable from 150mg of niacin per gallon of water to 300mg in that same amount. I’m not sure if that’s what’s helping, but being a B vitamin, they should just urinate out any excess they don’t need. She won’t eat it off of anything so I have to rely on her to drink it in the water. She’s at least able to drink without flipping every time. She is almost 6 weeks old and they are usually moved outside by now, but she’s still living in my garage with her siblings as she freaks out when I take them away. Feel bad they are still inside, but I can’t separate them or risk putting her out with my flock. I have a video of her, but it won’t upload.
