I am a NYC public school teacher and each spring our school hatches chick and duckling eggs. This year we had one little duck that took 5 days to hatch out and when he finally emerged his feet were curled and turned in, making him unable to walk. I have nursed him and he is now strong and full of energy. He walks awkwardly as he's gotten bigger, but he's pretty independent. I just cannot keep him in my apartment for much longer. I have also been taking him to work every day because I don'l like to leave him alone for more than 3 hours. He's is now just over 2 weeks old.

This little one is a fighter and since day one has had the will and energy to survive. Any suggestions or other contacts you may have would be greatly appreciated or if there is someone who wants to offer him a home. Patito, little duckling in Spanish, is really such a sweetie and I'll do whatever I can to get him to a good home. Thanks!!

My gosh what a cutie, I try not to use Craigslist for animals, you never know who may want them.

Use this thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing

We also have a 'where am I where are you" thread and you can look up your state and talk to New Yorkers some may just know someone.

Craigslist is fine for live stock or pets if you use common sense.

If you're really worried about it, ask the potential buyer some duck specific questions and weed them out.

You could also try the forums above however it may take longer, Craigslist is quicker and more efficient. Post them today most likely gone before Monday.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I found a place called, Michigan Duck Rescue and Sanctuary that will take him. It looks like a wonderful place for my little one. I may be able to send him through Delta pet cargo (because otherwise it's a 10 hour drive), which is not ideal, but they will give him a good home. I really hope it all works out.

That is great news.
