Duckling not growing.

We got 10 Cayuga ducklings last week. They are now 10 days old. We noticed this morning that one is not growing the same as the others. It doesn't make any noise. Seems to keep its neck scrunched down, but doesn't seem in pain when it is stretched out. It also doesn't seem like it is seeing well. We have separated it to see if it is eating/drinking well. Could it just be a runt? The others seem to ignore it. Any advice? We did tons of research before getting these ducks, but we are still new so don't know the ropes yet. It doesn't look like the typical case of wry neck, but I could be wrong.

It may be failure to thrive, we he had a lot of that this year. Just keep feeding and watering it. If the others are not bullying it I would put it back in. If they are give it a stuffed animal and a small mirror and hope that it out grows the problem.

We ordered them from RuralKing.com but they supposedly came strait from the hatchery. They were mailed to us.

shipping is stressful on ducks and might be the cause, also i haven’t been to rural king this year so idk if they have it but tractor supply has a new brooder system that many ducklings have died from

We have one like this also and she will not walk. She will eat if we water it down and sometimes dry but not moving around at all. When she does she literally falls over and rolls. I'm worried about her. She is tiny and the others just run her over. What should we do?

How long has she been that way? Do you have any poultry electrolytes you can try on her? Sav-a-chick or durvet are two brands you could try. Have you tried any vitamin B3 (niacin) I recommend getting the liquid B complex (the liquid kind for cattle) get some feeding syringes (just the syringe, no needle!!!) and trying that out on her! I can't remember the dosage but I'll look around for it. How is the duckling doing today?

Sorry for your loss! Heartbreaking, but you did everything you could! Some ducks have a genetic thing where they don't grow normally on the outside, but their organs etc. grow normally, unfortunately in those case there isn't much to be done but make the time they have left enjoyable. It is NOT your fault! you're doing a great job
