Duckling seems to have sprained foot.

I have 4 duckling in the brooder with 12 chicks but moved them to a separate brooder . The little yellow duckling has been walking fine since i got him up untill about 2 hours ago hes not put any weight on the left foot. Im hoping its something not so bad . Hoping someone here may be able to lend some wisdom.

What type of feed do you give them? Have you been giving them some type of niacin?
Ducklings need niacin and b vitamins as they are growing to help with their leg strength since they grow much faster then chickens.
Some like to put Brewers yeast or nutritional yeast in their food (1tblsp to 1 cup of food) others give a B complex in their water or with a dropper in their bills.

They are on DuMor . Im going in the morning to get the yeast for them. Maybe that will help its leg and overall health for them all

It should help, but could take days or weeks to see improvement. Most will keep them on the niacin until they are done growing. Some will keep occasionally giving it for the rest of their life, especially heavier breeds like pekins.

You might want to get vitamin b complex for your yellow duckling. If you get the human type you should give him 3 ml a day by dropper.

Or you can get the kind from TSC that is more concentrated and you would only need to give 1ml a day. (It say injectable, but I give it with a dropper)

This could help speed up its recovery.

2 days and hes putting weight on it again grateful for you guys . Got this yeast its the only kind i could find.
