That's beautiful!

I would like to make a fall trip to the north eastern part of the country sometime to see the trees turning. Just seems like it would be glorious to see in person.

I hate traveling tho.....

I despise traveling, lol. People always seem shocked that we never go on vacation. It's by choice... We do plenty of fun things as a family. We just stay local. We've got a petting zoo worth of pets, and did even before we added chickens. Travel isn't exactly easy.

Haha yes it does!

I did move my 5, 3-week old chicks to the coop this morning. They and their brooder plate are in a safe and separate run within the big coop and run. That way they can start integrating without being harrassed.

New chicks hatch Wednesday!

yea that is how we do ours too ... like 4 weeks in the broder in the house , another 4-5 in the "mini" coop and then out with the rest lol and ooo are you hatching or buying from someone who is hatching ?

That way is working food for us. Thy guest batch I kept inside for about 7 weeks. WAY too long, lol.

I ordered 15 straight run assorted bantam cochin chicks from Ideal Poultry.

I'm hoping they get here Thursday. When I ordered from Meyer, they arrived day after hatch. Ideal offers bantam cochins in, I think, 8 colors, so it could be quite the assortment.
