Duckling sick and I don't know what to do-IT PASSED AWAY

Just got my baby ducks and geese. One of the little bitty baby ducks has no energy and I haven't ever seen it open its eyes. Have in a box by itself with some sugar water. I dipped its beak in sugar water but It is still really weak.

Can you do teramyicin? My ducky did that and was dead in 4 hours. Someone said umbilical infection. I don't know. The secong batch did much better.

I'm so sorry to hear about your duckling, cockadoodlemom! It's such an awful feeling when something in our care dies!

Thank you NiftyChick. Yes it is awful when your the caretaker and you can't do anything to help. My 13 yr. old daughter was out there with the baby when it passed and I guess since she handle it so well I figure I can.

We also just laid My Uncle to rest Tues. so I think that has helped us. I hope I am not just rambling.
