Hello community,
Hoping to find some help with a 3 day old Indian runner duckling that I recently hatched (may 14/15 2022). She hatched with a slipped Achilles’ tendon. A vet has tried her reset the tendon under sedation without success. Although I have read it can take more than one attempt.
I understand the usual solution at this point is euthanasia, but I am determined to exhaust all options within a reasonable quality of life before I give up. She is not in pain at this time and is enjoying herself with her brood hoping around and enjoying many naps.
Does anyone have any experience with resetting Achilles’ tendons or any kind of “therapy” that improved mobility? I have exhausted all internet sources.
Also looking for any help with splinting or some kind of brace that would make walking a bit easier?
Thank you for reading

Were you able to figure out a prosthetic or any other solution? I’m currently dealing with this same situation with a chick and am getting to the end of my options. I’m trying to do anything to save the chick so I’m open to creative options if you have any. Thanks in advance!
