Duckling suddenly died?

The male duckling I was worried about has stopped squeaking, but now he makes a noise that kind of sounds like a hiccup. It sounds like there's something going on with his throat. Are there any diseases/disorders of the throat that young ducks might get?

Has his voice already changed? Male ducks do have voice changes.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure. I don't own ducks.

Does it look like he is having trouble breathing? I recall reading about a worm that attaches itself in the throat but I can't remember what it's called.

gape worm. but not sure a 10 week old would have them. or a duckling I had a roo get them. My roo lost his voice completely.

@Little Byrd does your duckling have plenty of water to drink always deep enough to dunk their heads into? They can get respiratory infections from wet moldy bedding too. Can you upload a video that would help.

Well, good news! Whatever was going on with my duckling seems to have passed. He sounds and behaves normally now.

I cleaned out their coop (the bedding was very soggy, but no mold), put in fresh bedding, raised the coop onto bricks to allow drainage, and loaded all the ducks up with vitamin c. Something I did worked, or maybe he just recovered on his own :)
