So I Purchased a couple of ducklings. One seems to love to whisper when it is in your lap.. Sometimes in the brooder, but not as much as it does when you are holding it, or it is cuddling with you.. Whats that about? Im not sure what it is actually doing? Anyone got any idea's?

When It pants It has its lower jaw open and It barely moves. While its entire body moves with the pant. This one thing it does. It opens and closes. It's better if your holding it cause then it looks at you and does this. It doesn't make any noises when it does it. So Its close to a pant. But Im not quiet sure if it is a pant. Very confusing duckling. You can see the open and full close closer to the end of the video.

+1 I agree, looks like it's panting...

Both of mine were panting today - I had my 2 out in the yard with me earlier, and it was near 90° outside.

I was sitting in the shaded grass on a deck chair, and both of the ducks were sitting under my chair to keep cool.

I had a bowl of clean, cool water out with us that they would drink from often, and there was a nice breeze blowing as well, but it was still hot out.

Occasionally, they'd head over to their kiddie pool for a bit, then back under my chair.

Sounds like your little one is too warm as well.

Hope he feels better!

Cheers'

Dan
