Hi everyone!
I’ve posted here a few times about my Pekin ducklings I have four and I noticed that one of them keeps having an issue with what I think is a possible clogged nostril. I have a milk jug waterer and a deep Tupperware container with holes cut out so they are all able to stick their heads in. Only reason I have two is because sometimes they are finicky about the milk jug but will almost always use the Tupperware so I make sure they at least have that. Henry is my smallest duckling right now and my fiancé and I noticed two days ago it sounded like something was clogged in there. I think Henry ended up taking care of the problem himself because I didn’t hear it again until this morning... sigh. And it still seems to be a little bit of an issue this afternoon too.All my other ducklings dunk their heads in the water but I noticed Henry hasn’t been. I’m now a little more worried because after looking closely at him it’s apparent that his nostrils are quite smaller than the other 3 ducklings who all seem to be at the same size. It doesn’t seem like the nostrils are sealed shut or anything, but I’m wondering if the size of them is causing this too? I did make a call to my vet who deals with ducks and am hoping to hear back within 24-48 hours. I’ve also noticed Henry’s fur is much thinner than the others. Here are some pictures of Henry and for the picture of the two ducklings together, Henry is on the left and my other duckling on the right...it shows the difference of nostril size in that photo. He eats, sleeps, and poops so other than the possible clogged nostril issue we seem to be okay but just wanted some opinions!
