duckling with eye injury

ive just been bringing the ducklings in from there afternoon paddle and noticed one of them has an eye injury, its eye is bleeding

can i do anything for it? its eyelids can open and close but it looks painful, everytime it 'blinks' the blood washes across the eye. its not bleeding heavily but must hurt

Must have gotten something poked in it, poor baby. If you aren't able to take it to the vet, I would suggest washing the eye out with eye wash solution to clear out any contaminants and then use some anitbiotic eye ointment that is available at the farm stores.
